Moving the pip000 folders to the equivalent location in the new "My Folders" drive (D Drive for me - F Drive for you) seems to work (but I haven't actually trialed any of these downloaded items in a movie yet. This reddit is to ask basic and intermediate questions about editing, primarily for home and personal use. dzp files finds out that "My Folders" are not in C drive anymore - but then installs the pip000 folders in C Drive anyway.
When I placed the pip001 folders into the D:\Public Folders\CyberLink\Downloaded Effects folder structure it appeared in PD There is a FOLDER ONLY structure all neatly laid out in D:\Public Folders\CyberLink\Downloaded Effects\ BUT NO FILES and NO pip001 folders. I also had a look to see if anything was in my D:\Users\Public folders
Like you this included the "My Folders" directories.įrom info in this thread I found the missing files in C:\Users\Public\CyberLink\Downloaded Effects (And because I had repeatedly tried to install files according to the instructions pip001 to pip006 were all the same.) I am very new to PD but this is what I did and what I found.īecause of all the discussion about needing C drive space I moved as much as I could off to my other (D:\) drive. I have attached a visual of where things are stored in my file structure. I would like to see all of the downloaded files remain contained and put somewhere I can maintain it, but can't find that area. Is there any recommendation on the best place to put them? I copied the download folder and pasted it next to the content packs folders but PD10 didn't see it. In the mean time, I hate to keep loading my downloaded PIP folders in with the content packs if that isn't the right place to put them. Maybe it is a security or access rights or something. There is something about that dowload folder that blocks PD10. Is there a quick test you can recommend for me to follow it through? I have never created a custom effect, so I can't be sure they load to that structure.
I even uninstalled and re-installed PD10 to ensure I had a clean structure. I do have all users loaded with C:\Users\xxxx\Documents\CyberLink\PowerDirector\10.0. PD10 created the download area and installs particle effects to that area, so why doesn't it find it? Perhaps I moved the location of "My Documents" to an F: drive and this confuses PD10? I am so close to solving this issue and need this last bit of information.
If you have a successful version of PD10 and Win 7 64 bit running, can you tell me where the downloaded particle effects are being stored on your directory that PD10 finds and uses please? If I copy a PIP folder effect from the downloaded effects area into one of the the Content Pack folder\Particle Objects folder, I find it in the particle effects library and it works fine. For me, there are two of them:Ĭ:\Program Files (x86)\Cyberlink\templates\PowerDirector Content Pack 10\PowerDirector 10 Content Pack I\ParticleObjectĬ:\Program Files (x86)\Cyberlink\templates\PowerDirector Content Pack 10\PowerDirector 10 Content Pack II\ParticleObject The particle effects that show up in my Power Director 10 libraries are in a different folder. All of the particle effects loaded to the downloaded effects folder are not available for me to use and are thus missing in the particle effects library. The trouble is Power Director 10 (at least mine) doesn't look in this area.
I can open the PIP folder and see all of the thumbnail pictures that make up the effect. The next downloaded and installed particle effect will be PIP002 and so forth. For example PIP001 might contain all of the details for fatasie. There is one PIP folder created for the particle effect installed. When I double click on it, it creates a PIP folder in C:\Users\Public\CyberLink\Downloaded Effects\Particle Effects. Mine are going to an F: drive under Users>administration>downloads. When you download a particle effect, it creates a.
